College Readiness
The Wisconsin Mathematics Council endorses the Statement about College Readiness and the Wisconsin Standards for Mathematics (also linked below) from Wisconsin Higher Education and K-12 Representatives.
This joint statement discusses four aspects of the Wisconsin Standards for Mathematics (2021) that are important for postsecondary readiness:
- Focus on Standards for Mathematical Practices
- Coherence of content standards across grades and content areas
- Interwoven theme of mathematical modeling across the grades
- Options for alternative mathematical pathways offered in the last two years of high school
