College Readiness

The Wisconsin Mathematics Council endorses the Statement about College Readiness and the Wisconsin Standards for Mathematics (also linked below) from Wisconsin Higher Education and K-12 Representatives.

This joint statement discusses four aspects of the Wisconsin Standards for Mathematics (2021) that are important for postsecondary readiness:

1. Focus on Standards for Mathematical Practices
2. Coherence of content standards across grades and content areas
3. Interwoven theme of mathematical modeling across the grades
4. Options for alternative mathematical pathways offered in the last two years of high school
