JANE HOWELL ASPIRING EDUCATOR OF COLOR FELLOWSHIP
WMC and WMEF support and promote the need for greater racial and ethnic diversity among Wisconsin educators. Believing that broadening the racial and ethnic diversity of Wisconsin’s teacher workforce is important for both students of color and white students, it is to this end that WMEF is proud to offer the Jane Howell Aspiring Educator of Color Fellowship.
WMEF currently offers a $2,000 scholarship to a qualified student that identifies as a Student of Color and who is currently enrolled in a Wisconsin university or college, who intends to teach mathematics in a racially diverse environment. (The phrase “Students of Color (SOC)” intentionally includes students who may identify as Black, African- American, Asian, South Asian, Middle Eastern, Pacific Islander, Latinx, Chicanx, Native American, and multiracial).
Fellowship recipients are encouraged to reapply every year, up to a maximum of four awards per individual.
Additional information can be found on the scholarship application form.
