Join WMC for the Fall MPES Confernce: A Building Thinking Classroom Approach

Please join us in person for a day of learning around practices that support student engagement and thinking in a K-5 or 6-12 classroom!

These grade band sessions will be led by Chase Orton, who has worked closely with Peter Liljendal, and three Wisconsin BTC educators.  They will lead us in learning how to transform our classrooms into an ideal setting for deep mathematical thinking! As Liljendal trained facilitators, they will help us...

  • Learn about the research behind the Building Thinking Classrooms framework.
  • Engage deeply at the practices of the Building Thinking Classrooms framework to help students take responsibility for their own learning as well as help them to move from collective knowing and doing into individual knowing and doing.
  • Explore the ways in which the Building Thinking Classrooms framework creates equity in the classroom while leveraging the powers of diversity present in all classrooms.
