Sister Mary Petronia Van Straten and Ethel A. Neijahr Scholarships

The Wisconsin Mathematics Council currently offers two $2,000 scholarships to qualified students currently enrolled in teacher education programs in the state of Wisconsin.  To be eligible students must

1. a legal resident of Wisconsin
2. currently enrolled in a Wisconsin public or private teacher education program
3. currently enrolled in or have already completed a course in methods of teaching mathematics, and
4. currently have a GPA of at least 3.00 (B average) or better.

If the applicant is a secondary major, he/she must have successfully completed 16 credits in mathematics.  A statistics and a computer programming or technology application course must be part of the undergraduate/graduate program.

If the applicant is an elementary major, his/her program must include 6 credits of mathematics.  Some statistics concepts and some computer/technology knowledge must be part of the undergraduate/graduate program.
