The recent National Council of Teachers of Mathematics publication, Principles to Actions: Ensuring Mathematical Success for All, delineates effective teaching practices that promote high levels of learning for all students. To assist you in putting these practices into action at the middle and high school levels, the Wisconsin Mathematics Council in collaboration with the Department of Public Instruction Presidential Awards for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching invite you to participate in an innovative online book study focused on unpacking the eight essential Mathematics Teaching Practices outlined in this publication.
Throughout the three-week book study, you will have the opportunity to participate in weekly online discussions and three live webinars with other K-12 educators from around the state. During the webinars, we will focus on unpacking one or more of the following high-leverage teaching practices providing you with structures and robust tasks to help you enact these practices in your own classroom.
Dates: To be determined
